Honestly, there aren't really bad PSUs any more anno 2012 IF you stick to a reputable brand. The focus these days is to be found more in features you need, wattage you need and of course how efficient your PSU should be. When it comes to efficiency, the M2 sits smack down in the middle of everything, and that's a good position to be in. We did notice a little higher power draw than expected at certain loads, but nothing extreme or anything to worry about.
Opting for a Silver certified PSU as tested today translates into a little more value, and well... this PSU is tagged with an MSRP of 170 EUR, so in the stores that will likely be even lower. It's a good price for what you are receiving hardware wise.
We think the Silent Pro M2 series is very good and very diverse. First off, being called the Silent Pro it does its name justice, you can barely hear the product in its default configuration.
Efficiency then, being a Silver certified product means it's the 3rd best product rating in terms of efficiency certification. At 50% load you'll see 88% efficiency. We looked and compared the product from different load angles and were satisfied with what we saw, though it could be a notch better. For 100/110V users efficiency appears to be a little lower at standard Bronze levels. When we had 750 watts of load on the product, it was still very close to Platinum levels with a 25~30W difference at best.
The product as promised comes with good stability and with a modular design. Next to that, the traditional single +12 volts rail has been included (which we like) and granted, it comes with most decent dark looks (though very similar to the Silent Pro Gold and Hybrid).

So efficiency wise, in the EU on 230V the PSU we feel delivers satisfactory levels, no remarks there. Mind you, a PSU is the most efficient at 50% load. So we always like to recommend that IF your choice is being greener and more power efficient (which saves money on the electricity bill as well), then we recommend you calculate your average load, and double that up PSU wise.
Some love yet some frown upon the lack of modular cables. Personally I adore modular cables on power supplies as you get to use the cables that you need. So there's no spaghetti swarm of cabling inside the PSU killing the cool looks. Then again, a lot of people have a closed PC, so you can't see that spaghetti of wires either.
Connectors wise there's a _very_ decent choice available, all of them with good length as well. The PSU is covered by a very nice five year warranty (carry-in), so that definitely brings some additional value to the table.
So let me round it up. The Silent Pro M2 series is a decently built power supply, with Silver standard and certified efficiency for the top two wattage models.
We do love the big +12V rails, the build quality seems absolutely fine and we appreciate the fact that this PSU is very stable as a result of that. The product is marked as 'Silent Pro', and silent it certainly is.
As such, we can conclude that the 1000W M2 model we tested is a nice quality PSU with decent 80+ Silver efficiency. It's a fairly run of the mill 1000W unit that offers all the features you need with some nicely added bonuses in terms of the sleeved and flat cabling. The modular design works out well. We dig the big single 12V rail as well, yeah we can really recommended this power supply. This 1000W model is tagged at €170, and within that price bracket we feel the Silent Pro M2 1000W power supply offers a lot for a fair amount of money. Recommended.
